    #Ubuntu is supposed to be #Linux for human beings – for anyone, nerd and noob alike. It is based on Gnome, which has a lot of great extensions. Some, like Topicons Plus, Steal my focus (and No titlebar), feels even neccessary.

    Yet, to install extensions in Ubuntu you first have to know about the website then you have to read some strange messages telling you to install a Firefox extension and then open Terminal to install a program.

    This is ridiculous! Why isn't this installed by default?

    TIL: To use tmux in LXC containers you basically need Ubuntu 18.04 images.

    Longer answer is that there are patches to tmux and glibc that are upstream and 18.04 is the first release to have all of them.

    Immer wieder wird erzählt wie toll und stabil doch #Ubuntu ist. Ja, mag sein. Allerdings sollte man auch nicht nur bei dieser Distribution verweilen sondern auch genauer hinschauen: Werkzeug, gut und schön. Aber freie Software? Nicht wirklich. Ein fauler Kompromiss wohl eher. Wenn man allein das Debakel bei der derzeit aktuellen Langzeitversion und der sog. "Privacy Policy" betrachtet wird deutlich, dass hier mitnichten "freie Software" im Zentrum des Interesses vom dahinter stehenden Unternehmen Canonical steht. #Stop-Playing-Bullshit
