@spookywitch @kioskwitch
And One (and also Panzer AG) are supposed to be ironic.
as for Combichrist, Andy LaPlegua claims that it's just to make the lyrics edgy.
Nachtmehr, on the other hand, is an entirely different situation -- they actively pander to neo-nazis as can be seen in their videos.
i mean, the goth scene is supposed to be controversial, obviously, but Nachtmehr's reaction to people asking "hey, why do you pander to neo-nazis" was basically "so what if we do?"
some smaller band who frontlined Nachtmehr a few years back made a video about it that they played at the end of their performance right before Nachtmehr was supposed to go on: https://vimeo.com/42322595 -

@spookywitch @kioskwitch fwiw Combichrist and Nachtmehr have been accused of being fashy before. they are both also very anti-women in their lyrics. In conversation from pleroma.site permalink -

@bandali the issue is that they use OStatus and the accounts are old and got corrupted from an incident about a year ago. if i nuke them from orbit, then it will rediscover everything it needs to federate. In conversation from pleroma.site permalink -

Needless to say, we are unamused by the spam incident done by the weedis.life admin.
And, accordingly, due to our "don't spam up our fucking instance" policy, they are defederated.
Now to patiently watch as my script verifies that they are, in fact, completely defederated.

@Laurelai
it is a good idea, but it needs to be scoped appropriately.
i believe the problem here is that it allows remote targets to be specified.
the default command should restrict to local targets only. we have a similar command in Pleroma that allows this, but only for local targets.In conversation from pleroma.site permalink -

current status in pleroma lockdown:
- fully interoperable with Mastodon "secure mode" by default
- inbound signed fetches and posts are mapped to an identity by default
what's left:
- mapping deduced identities to capability sets
- reworking the code to enforce based on capability sets
- capability negotiation (ala bearcaps)In conversation from pleroma.site permalink -

Why is software created using taxpayers’ money not released as Free Software?
* Tax savings: Similar applications don't have to be programmed from scratch every time.
* Collaboration: Major projects can share expertise and costs.
* Serving the public: Applications paid by the public should be available for everyone.
* Fostering innovation: With transparent processes, others don't have to reinvent the wheel.
