honestly my experience contributing to git entirely validated my approach to Pleroma maintenance. it's good to provide useful reviews and help get people up to speed. Junio honestly seems like a nice guy. I might scratch other git itches too. -

yes, by "better standards" i mean the exclusion of those people. that includes teaching people to recognize it. -

@schmittlauch Pleroma does not implement JSON-LD. many AP implementations actually implement LitePub. -

@eryn @xj9 @starbreaker
i think that the hullabaloo is really more about the lack of ability to do anything other than use blocks, yes.
we should be building systems where there is real security, where users explicitly endorse their consent for actions.
this is what i've spent the past almost 2 years working toward building.
if anything, these new entrants to the fediverse have caused people to take the design and implementation of secure federated networks more seriously, and i intend to leverage that willpower while it still exists.
this is about more than blocking people, but minimizing the threat they impose to begin with, by allowing everyone, the marginalized, the privileged and the bullies to all engage the fediverse on their own terms with willing participants.
the problem isn't that Gab or KiwiFarms or whatever comes along next week exists, the problem is that the architecture forces you to participate with them or explicitly opt out of participation. this isn't what we need to be building. -

a beachhead has been established in the war on git deadnaming:
[Cooking]* ac/log-use-mailmap-by-default-transition (2019-07-15) 3 commits (merged to 'next' on 2019-07-19 at e5669de950) + tests: defang pager tests by explicitly disabling the log.mailmap warning + documentation: mention --no-use-mailmap and log.mailmap false setting + log: add warning for unspecified log.mailmap setting The "git log" command learns to issue a warning when log.mailmap configuration is not set and --[no-]mailmap option is not used, to prepare users for future versions of Git that uses the mailmap by default. Will merge to 'master'.

@dielan @kioskwitch @spookywitch
i didn't say it was all bad. obviously it is possible to make industrial music without pandering to neo-nazis. by far, the majority of bands do precisely this. -

@dielan @kioskwitch @spookywitch
oh, I get that.
I guess what I am saying is, pandering to neo-nazi ideology as a way of being "edgy" is basically the "pop music" of industrial.
it's taking the easy way out. it's formulaic. it's pastiche. it's been done and done and done and done. -

@spookywitch @kioskwitch
yeah, Nachtmehr is just complete trash.
but Combichrist, I mean, that one is a tough call to make.
i think the whole aggrotech side of industrial music is too willing to pander to neo-nazi ideology in their attempts at being edgy.
to me, the whole thing seems quite pastiche honestly.
