Mild weather has taken the snow off the tops pretty much in the last week. It has, however, meant a bit more water in the burns 😀 Crossing one or two required an alternative route.

A few trail pictures from earlier today. Must remember to wipe the lens cover when getting out of a pocket. Some are a little soft because there must have been some water on it 🤷♂️

Some nice colours appearing though as we move through into September 😀

An unremarkable photograph in many ways.
However, the concrete post amuses me.
It is exactly like one of the pair that used to be in my grandparents back garden and formed the basis of their washing line.
So I wonder:
A) Who would be hanging out their washing in the lower slopes of Mither Tap.
B) How much washing could you get on 1/2 a mile of line, as the other post like it is a long way away.

Obviously it has some other purpose, but it really does remind me of washing. 😀

I like Mastodon, it brought me into the fediverse 😀
But I am not totally beholden to it and I am aware of alternatives like GNU Social, Pleroma, Friendica, Diaspora etc...
Does anyone know of any good feature comparisons for software that will federate?
Mostly looking for general use, as opposed to say media specific tools, but interested in all.

Question.
I am not going to be doing this in too quick a time, as I have a lot on. However, it is something I am mulling over.

Are there any good guides for a single user instance? My admins have been good and generous, but I see that as where I envisage my federation going. I fancy setting up something on my home IP (static). But equally, want a standalone machine, segregated from other internals.

What specs are realistic for cpu/ram/storage etc? Boosts appreciated.

Ever since I read Saga, I have a mental "Lying Cat" that pops up at appropriate* points, doing it's thing.

Trouble is, I am never quite sure if I am quietly saying "lying" when it appears 😮

There is a few things to attend to. Gear indexing slightly off, front brake needs some more bite, and there is a creaking from the saddle.

Stretched my legs before tea with a walk to the river and back with my other half.
The brief shower didn't bother us until we remembered that the washing and my shower towels were on the line 🤷♂️
Of course, the children noticed the rain and brought it in... Well I can dream 😝

Been to a funny sort of woodland park today, that has a fair bit of everything.
One of the bits that was quite nice was the butterfly house.
Some really lovely butterflies, picture deluge to follow 😀
