@schestowitz Just got the April update. PC bricked, just as the article said. Fortunately, I had an old PS/2 keyboard and was able to select the options (as USB died with the update, rendering mouse and keyboard useless) after nine restarts, forcing the PC into recovery mode.
@schestowitz I agree. In fact, Google was practising a lot of the stuff Facebook does today, e.g. having a deceptive advertising preferences’ page. In 2011, Google claimed you could opt out of preference-tracking—it was proven (by me, confirmed by the NAI) to be a lie. For the last few years, Facebook pulls the same stunt. Both services switch on things you have switched off regularly.
