Hello to the community! If you are LGBTQ or otherwise marginalized by virtue of your intersectional standpoint and are in need of HOUSING:
I have some knowledge in how the housing system works in the United States regarding low-income housing, and I can help point you towards local resources. It's not much, and there's no guarantee there are resources available, but oftentimes there are and they're just a little hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for.
@g Oh! I just noticed I responded to a "different" "why" haha. I thought you were asking about why we keep thinking about comebacks to arguments that are are already over. And yeah, I agree. I'm fairly sure that our brains are constantly rerunning memories looking for solutions to problems we had, in this case: not being able to respond at the appropriate time.
I'm sorry, the number of child surveillance tools that exist aren't enough right now?
Not to mention, maybe work with your children directly to teach them sexual and online safety, and maybe also don't shame them about having a sexuality. Shaming and punishing your teenagers for having a sex drive is the "war on drugs" approach to sex and we know how well that works.
@Gina I'm fairly sure it's mostly due to desensitization, if you lug around X amount of weight every moment of your life, your muscles will eventually grow to counter balance it. But yeah even so it's pretty marvelous how our bodies eventually end up being like "it's fine, I can handle it" with any rational amount of physical stress.
Dark Patterns are tricks used in websites and apps that make you do things that you didn't mean to, like buying or signing up for something. The purpose of this site is to spread awareness and to shame companies that use them.
most of my contemporaries have this hilarious disdain for facebook and then say "yeah, i'm mostly on instagram these days."
as if the problem of social media are solved by simply moving your presence from one platform where your parents are, to a shittier platform owned by the same sociopaths.

Police are already using face recognition to monitor citizens. We’re backing a law in Massachusetts that could help lead the way to defending privacy from government face surveillance. https://protonmail.com/blog/face-surveillance-moratorium/
