#Fediverse, are you ready for the cutest thing ever?

My parent's cat loves sleeping on the dryer, but as he got older he was having a hard time jumping up to it. So my dad built him a little ramp 😭🐱

In honor of World Mental Health day and our organisation's focus on #selfcare, I've opened a new channel in our Rocketchat called "How are you?" It's meant to give coworkers a judgement-free place to talk about how they are doing, how work is going, how we can help each other, how the organisation can facilitate selfcare better etc.

#FOSS update. I just had a session with colleagues about #LibreOffice / #Collabora compatibility issues. It's pretty dire. Formatting in Word docs is regularly erased, Excel sheets are seeing strange bugs, and Powerpoints especially are completely ruined.

I'm wondering what the best and most time efficient way is to tackle these issues. Do we post on forums waiting for a response, do we submit tickets with Collabora, or do we find consultants from the LibreOffice community to help us out?

..so now I have to find a pet sitter who would be willing to chill in a nice house with a huge garden 5 minutes of cycling from the city center of Amsterdam, in exchange for walking, feeding and petting an amazing dog. House comes included with food and a bicycle.

It's from August 10 until 16. Any pet sitters here?

Just got a house visit from the adoption agency who will decide whether or not I may adopt Jazz, the handsome doggo stuck in a pro-kill animal shelter in Romania. It seems I've passed! 😃

We're now looking at dates. If all goes well he might arrive in the Netherlands before the 1st of August.

Can we make #NameAndFame Friday a thing? There are many free and/or #opensource software makers that deserve a shoutout.

I'll start. @libreoffice is incredible. I keep being amazed by how good it works, how it plays well with Msft standards, and how nice the online version is and that it's completely free. Awesome community. Thanks all.

Being selftaught in #IT is weird. It's all crippling imposter syndrome until after days of trying something actually works and then WHO'S THE IMPOSTER NOW! I'M A TECH GENIUS!! BOW DOWN TO YOUR IT GODDESS!!!

@ericbuijs Thanks, I'll post a few #FOSS adventure updates daily. We're almost done building.

Our big victory of this week was getting 2FA (via FreeIPA) for our apps and desktops to work. Biggest letdown of the week? The 2FA also works whenever you lock your pc - so whenever you come back from a bathroom break you have to generate a OTP on your phone again. Yeah.. that's a week's worth of work out the window.
