I'm currently reading Doctorow's "Walkaway" and while I enjoy his books (and I mostly agree with his points) they always comes across as so fucking preachy. Maybe I'm not the target audience but I find so annoying. You can make a politcal point without screaming it out at the reader imho.
@devurandom ah yes that stuff is horrible. I mean most reasonable people should acknowledge that us foreign policy is quite bad, to say the least but you have to be able to hold two thoughts in your head at the same time and not start supporting dictators and regimes because of "anti-imperialism." and such. all that shit is so messed up and we have some of it here in sweden as well. leftists supporting assad bc of 70's style anti-imperialism for example
@aetios Well it's a small home network with some selfhosted stuff on some raspis + torrenting + my partner streaming stuff. but I caved in and went with a WRT1900ACS and hope for the best
I decided the screen on the eee was a bit to small for a tiling window manager to make sense to I went with fluxbox, I had almost forgotten about how good fluxbox is.
in other news I finally manage to install slackware with fde on my eee 900 and I must say, it's a sweeeet and simple system. I like it quite a bit. It's a bit slow boting up (compared to debian or antix) but that is my only complaint so far.
@popefucker I mean all forms of anarchism I know are against representative parliamentarian state-democracy. if you adheer adhere to that ideology wouldn't it be quite natural to take part in that shit?
