Atmospheric methane is also increasing. The spikes usually correspond to gas pipeline leaks. https://social.freedombone.net/attachment/70976 -

Atmospheric CO2 in the northern hemisphere up to 2017. If anyone is doing anything to reduce CO2 emissions, it ain't working. https://social.freedombone.net/attachment/70972 -

Updating my graphs for 2017. This is the global surface temperature anomaly, calculated from GHCN data using tempgraph. It had looked as if the rate of warming was slowing, but in the last couple of years it has picked up again. https://social.freedombone.net/attachment/70969 -

@bob in C, you can shoot yourself in the foot. in C++, you can shoot your foot off.

@csaurus Yes I have the same view. I don't want to become part of the war machine if I can possibly avoid it, and I also don't want to do things which involve spying on people. Technologies of disempowerment and subjugation. In conversation from social.freedombone.net permalink -

@m0n5t3r I was in a job interview last year with a company similar to that. They made lighting control systems, which seemed like a fine application to me. You can do fancy things with lights and microcontrollers.
During the interview the guy started talking about "how our products are in an excellent position on the ceiling to gather more information" and how cameras might be added to the light controllers. I thought this is going in an uncomfortable direction. In conversation from social.freedombone.net permalink -

Some recruiter trying to persuade me to apply to work at some company. Something about transport automation. I look up the URL he gives and it turns out to be some incredibly sketchy military surveillance organization.

Reminder: You should be using your upload bandwidth. If you're not, now's the time to do so. Seed some (legal) torrents, rock an IPFS node, give Tor some love.

@ricardojmendez Do some people believe that privacy is anti-business? That is true if the business model is Surveillance Capital, but there are other business opportunities which support privacy as a feature. In conversation from social.freedombone.net permalink -

@codeawayhaley @madponiez I think there's a setting to only allow dms from accounts that you're following, but in general I think there is an overall right wing bias to Twitter, including in its management and censorship policies. In conversation from social.freedombone.net permalink -
