The paramount question of the day is not political, is not religious, but is economic. The crying-out demand of today is for a circle of principles that shall forever make it impossible for one man to control another by controlling the means of his existence. -- Voltairine de Cleyre
@solariiknight I think what's being described here is what will play out over the next few years. Facebook and Twitter will try to deploy AI as a substitute for human censors, and human censors are a substitute for community or affinity. I expect this is a project which will fail, or at best turn those sites into a sterile, Compuserve-like environment of highly curated and officially approved information. The more likely outcome I think is that the AIs will be chaos generstors. They won't understand communities or context, and will make dumb decisions which unleash further waves of outrage.
@solariiknight In olden times it's not that the king was always telling you what to believe. It's that mobility of most of the population was very limited. You would most likely live and die in the same village. And transmission of information was only verbal. So you would probably believe whatever your ancestors did.
I've now added the latest version of Babel to the !Freedombone mesh desktop, and it's selectable from a list. The numbers next to the protocol names indicate how many peers are running that protocol. https://social.freedombone.net/attachment/75742
