Foone examines all the various bathroom signs as we move to be more inclusive and how they run up against some VERY weird cultural assumptions we have

The big concepts I'm going over in tutorial are quantum numbers.

Anyone have related comics, jokes or memes I can add to my powerpoint?

I feel like the metaphors used in the tech industry can be a real turn-off for some:
    - 'disruption'

    - 'bootcamp'

    - 'code warrior'

What ever happened to trying to save the world?

personal opinion: non-decimal bases for general use are a nifty concept, but to avoid confusion you ideally would want to come up with a unique set of digits.

because if i see "10", it's gonna take me a long time to see a number other than ten.

so, now you've spent around $150 for your computer, phone, and games. buying these refurbished keeps waste from the landfills. they are all really well supported and the computer has tons of replacement parts available on the cheap so you can repair it if anything breaks instead of throwing it away

for gaming, you can buy a PS3 controller. you can find these on ebay for less than $20

if you install an application called retroarch, on either the computer or the phone, you can use the PS3 controller to play games from the NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, GBA, PS2 ... the list goes on and on

'That's a nice song,' said young Sam.

'It's an old soldiers' song,' Vines said. 'As I recall, they used to sing it after battles,' he said. I've seen old men cry when they sing it,' he added.

    'Why? It sounds cheerful.'

They were remembering who they were not singing it with, thought Vimes.

TIL that in the concept art for The White Dragon cover, THE DRAGON HAD EARS. (They have ears in the text.)

Someone was asking for federated #Streaming options a few days ago?
(I'm afraid I can't find the toot anymore.)

I think #Nextcloud might be worth looking into.
As far as I can tell it supports "screen sharing" (i.e. video streaming, no?), chat, and federation between instances. It also has a Fediverse compatible plugin/client, but probably not for streaming?

I don't know if anonymous usage is possible, though. I'm not at all sure how it all works, they don't seem to have a wiki 😅

The ESA managed to have a list of over 2k game writers and video folks (names, addresses, etc) *publicly* hosted on their website ever since E3 2019. And some site called "kiwi farms" which seems like a very bad place judging by the reaction managed to archive it before it was pulled down and the warning was broadcast.

If you attended E3 this year PLEASE consider changing passwords and looking out for weird activity on your accounts.

    Be safe, y'all.
