That would be brilliant!
I can't host/maintain translated fork sites, but I will promote them as much as possible?

@switchingsocial here’s an alt question: Snapchat/Insta Story alternative? I love the 24hr disappearing story concept. Would love to have that in a more ethical option.
Oh my goodness, it's #FollowFriday 🥂

Ah, ok, I understand.
That's a good point, hadn't thought of it before, thanks for bringing it up 👍
I'll have a think about this.
I hope you are right, I hope both are possible.
I think @pixelfed has something like this planned?
But why not do *both*?
Thank you for taking a stand on this 👏
Known Gab domain names so far are gab.com and gab.ai, it's currently being assumed they would use one of these domains for an instance. (Of course they might come up with something new, but we don't know yet.)
Gab provides social networking for neo-nazis who are already banned from other social media. This includes people who promote genocide and murder.
They currently run a proprietary social network, but they want to reach a wider audience so they are joining the Fediverse soon.
If you're not a member of one of these vulnerable groups, I urge you to consider from their point of view.
Gab took *zero* action to stop further murders after the synagogue massacre by Bowers. Gab just whined about how difficult it was for them to find hosting.
We should do everything we can to make life for Gab as difficult as possible. It's our duty as human beings to stop them.
Gab is for people who are already banned from other social media.
Gab users promote *actual murder*:

"Bowers posted on chat site Gab.com about the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS): “HIAS likes to bring invaders in that kill our people. I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered."
"The gunman reportedly shouted anti-Semitic phrases during the shooting, which left 11 people dead and five injured, including four police officers. "
Unfortunately yes:
If you've got a slow or old laptop, you may be able to speed it up by installing the Lubuntu operating system:
You can follow their official account here:
Lubuntu is a lighter version of Ubuntu Linux. It can run the same apps as Ubuntu, but has a simpler interface that makes it run extremely quickly even on older/slower computers.
The increased speed is especially noticeable if you use it to replace Windows 👍
Random odd question. Is there any way to post to Mastodon by e-mail?
My relatives do fine on Firefox / Linux 🦊
But still have trouble convincing them they can type a web address in directly, and don't have to search for it first
Agreed, feel much the same way :blobcheer:
Not an expert on religion or anarchism, but this seems pretty anarchist?
Using Gmail confidential mode is neither secure nor private. As long as Google can read your emails, its privacy promises will always be disingenuous. Here’s why Gmail’s confidential mode isn’t actually confidential: https://protonmail.com/blog/gmail-confidential-mode-security-privacy/
