If you ask your instance admin, they might be able to help?
Instances might be running different versions and/or modifications?

I see your point.

Ah, didn't know that... I guess that covers the cost of the server though?
It is ok to charge for services as long as it is done transparently.
She isn't a vaccine researcher, she's a former kidney doctor who got into homeopathy and crazy conspiracy sites like "natural news". Doctors can go crazy too.
Real research means peer review etc which she rejects.
I am going with the real doctors who quietly run hospitals and save lives, not the attention-seeking ones who say any old craziness to gather an audience.
It's not dirt, it's just her own words.
She promoted homeopathy, which indicates she had lost her grip on reality.
Then she denied having promoted homeopathy.
If that doesn't ring alarm bells for you then I don't know what to say.
She isn't a vaccine specialist, she promotes quack medicine like homeopathy and then later denies she ever did so.
She doesn't sound like a very reliable source of information.
That would be this Suzanne Humphries? Who promoted homeopathy and then later denied she did?
"Dr. Humphries will describe how homeopathy works as an energy medicine, and why it is a more advanced system than the commonly accepted (conventional medical) approach."
They're not parroting statements, they're looking at unvaccinated kids dying and diseases like measles returning in areas where takeup drops.
They're looking at stunningly obvious historical facts.
Do you deny smallpox killed 30% of those who got it?
Do you deny it was eradicated through vaccination?
No.
I have been "bombarded" with relatives who remember the time when polio etc killed people. One of them has suffered lifelong illness due to childhood polio (she wasn't vaccinated).
The AAPS is a crazy pressure group, not a medical org. They claim HIV doesn't cause AIDS etc. They're nuts.
uMap is a free OpenStreetMap service that lets you embed customised maps on your own site:
Facebook is trying to offer a really terrible Patreon-style service (which will take 30% of all income 😟 and permanent intellectual property rights to anything uploaded even if you leave the service 😱 ).
A number of people asked about free open alternatives. You might want to look at:

Any other suggestions?
#XMPP (also known as #Jabber) is a free open federated standard for instant messaging.
To use it, you need to install an XMPP app, then sign up for an account on an XMPP server.
There are lots of XMPP apps for Android, iOS, Windows, Mac and Linux:
https://xmpp.org/software/clients.html
There are also lots of XMPP servers to choose from:
The choice is maybe a bit overwhelming, but once you've picked an app and server it's very easy to use the service.
Hey Friendica users!
The android app Fedilab now supports Friendica accounts:
It's available from @fdroidorg and Google Play.
You can follow Fedilab on here at @tom79
Fedilab also supports Mastodon, Pleroma and PeerTube accounts. You can manage many accounts at once from the same app.
Hey developers & ActivityPub enthusiasts!
@GetTogetherComm is a free open alternative to MeetUp.com.
The lead developer needs help with implementing federation, either coding or better documentation about ActivityPub.
There's an open issue for it here:
https://github.com/GetTogetherComm/GetTogether/issues/60
There's been discussion but no code contributions yet.
Can you help?
(It would be *so* cool to get this kind of service federated, imagine every town having its own instance :blobaww: )
#uBlockOrigin is a really good and easy-to-use ad-blocker for your web browser. It also blocks some other threats to your privacy.
You can install it from your browser's add-on or extensions menu, and it's available for all major browsers including Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge and Opera.
It works well alongside #PrivacyBadger, and switching.social recommends you install both.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do NOT install "uBlock", it has a similar name but is a totally different app.
Prismo is an open federated alternative to sites like Reddit or Hacker News.
It's still under development, but the first instance is online here:
It's been in closed beta for a while, but Prismo now has open sign-ups for the first time.
You can sign up at:

There are a couple of open source automated #Translation sites available.
Both are still under development so they lack some languages/features, but you can try them already on their demo sites:

#SelfHosting and #CommunityHosting are when you run your own server for yourself or your community. This means you can have full control over whatever services run from that server, for example email or social networking.
It has traditionally been quite difficult to run a server, but there are a number of projects on the Fediverse that are trying to make it easier:
