@GreenandBlack We went to the Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh many years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Started with the fire procession down Arthur's Seat, concert at the Ross Bandstand, the fireworks from the Castle Esplanade, and finally a party at a friend's house in the city.
I had a really old PC, with a really old kernel. Decided to upgrade, but that necessitated a new kernel. However, the 100MB boot partition wasn't big enough for a modern kernel. :blobsad:
Clearly, on-street parking on Edinburgh's Princes Street wasn't a problem in the 1930s. For those that could afford a car in those recession hit times.
@sajith Don't worry, it's not you, it's me. When you see examples of the rule of thirds, the subjects (objects) are just as commonly on the right as they are on the left.
I've looked through hundreds of my photos and I've noticed my own preference (bias) for having the subject on the left, and I don't know why.
In my previous post Neachdainn was right-adjusted in the frame, but he is looking right. Is that why the photo is less satisfying? I don't think so, as I have some photos where he looks left, and I still find them less satisfying.
Here is another photo from the set. Again, Neachdainn is left adjusted in the frame, and he is looking right. This also means there is a catchlight in his eye. Is that a sub-concious consideration?
Some of the photos have Neachdainn right adjusted in the frame, instead of left. For some reason I find these photos less satisfying. Is it because I have a right-handed bias? Is it a cultural thing because I am used to using left-to-right writing? Something else? I don't know.
Investigations are on-going into why a company owned by pole-dancing ex-model Jennifer Arcuri received £100,000 in public funds, after she became close friends with Boris Johnson while he was London Mayor.
Ms Arcuri explained that BoJo's frequent visits to her flat during office hours was for technology lessons. Questions also raised about a reception she held in Westminster, which was facilitated by one of the PM's political allies.
I must say #BoJo is providing great entertainment value.
Having a "buy" component isn't a requirement for providing social housing. You would need to argue that requirement as a policy on its own.
Councils (& housing assoc') consider their Capital Budgets and Revenue Budgets separately. RBs are for spending in the current year, CBs have longer lives. Excesses from the RB (e.g. rents) can be put towards the CB, but their is tremendous political pressure to spend it on those annual council services.
