The Wrightsville Beach cam made it look like there wasn't too much devastation, but it's hard to tell...

Florence has hit Wilmington, but nothing exciting here yet. This afternoon was predicted to be the peak.

@silverfox I host it, but our internet uplink is definitely not up to any serous hosting ;-) I currently use DigitalOcean to host toot.cat (and a bunch of other stuff).

@Harena Let me map that out a bit more, just to get the full scale of it.

The WW trip was Aug 20-26, but the descent into chaos started the week before that.

That's ~4.5 weeks.

We'll see if the hurricane can extend that any. (They give prizes, right?)

I've been so very absent from here, haven't I.

Things have been very busy since about 3 weeks ago, getting ready to take both B & Z up to Warren Wilson -- and they didn't stop being busy for 2.5 weeks after that.

At least we're done with major appointments for awhile. Today I just need to pick up our backup (i.e. second) power generator from the repair shop, and maybe do our Friday shopping a day early.
