@sirphenom supposedly July 4th. But our dear friends at FreeSpeechExtremist have already been blocked by their developer instance, so...I have doubts they will really last on the full fediverse.
@ArdanianRight@Jdogg247 you don't need Zuckerberg to have it be weaponized. There's already a 3rd party group that is going after cops for the gallow's humor on Faceborg
@PussySlayer@Jdogg247 they really believe this, because they are stupid. the flip side of the coin just isn't funded well enough to continually manufacture such bullshit
@monerica Think of the Netflix guy who was not using "that word" maliciously or directed at anyone but merely mentioning it had been used in the past and was now not acceptable. He got fired. They are past context.
@monerica To be fair, they give his response. I don't think it is so much out of context as it is that there is some puritanical set of unwritten laws at work here that says a white person can never use that word even if they are making a positive anti-racist message.
I think the key here is how that author describes it as a "functional approach". The differentiator is "You can do functional programming if you want, or not" vs "Functional programming is fundamental to the way you write code in this language"
Tony Robbins seems to just be the latest target. Buttfeed just put out some headline how he's on video using racial slurs IE "the N word" Ok, sure, I'll watch the video.
1) It is from the early 80s 2) He's telling black people that if they get angry when people call them that word, they are giving that person power over them. Which is true, and a point completely over the heads of Buttfeed writers.
A nice explanation why 5G can interfere with weather forecasts... https://www.wired.com/story/5g-networks-could-throw-weather-forecasting-into-chaos/ Basically, the frequency proposed for 5G in the US (24 GHz) is close to the emission frequency measured for water vapor. Other frequencies that could cause problems are 36 GHz (rain), 50 GHz (temperature), and 80 GHz (ice). I am somewhat surprised use of these frequencies aren't banned by international treaty.
@mrmcmayhem what does LGBT history even really mean? I'm curious to know what the text of the law is. Kids should know who Alan Turing is, but the fact that he liked men isn't why he is important.
I'm still kinda disappointed that the story about the woman who was on meth and died by pumping gasoline up her anus was fake. The fake quote of "oooh, that feels good!" just makes me laugh uncontrollably.
