    @darth_mall I highly recommend Fedora Silverblue (or Fedora Workstation if you aren't really comfortable with flatpaks). Releases generally follow the GNOME release cycle, with major updates coming every 6 months. It's a very stable distro.

    @sedcore APIs that change are generally APIs only used within the desktop environment and core apps, which receive updates every cycle. Also, that's not really the most relevant thing when it comes to old distros not shipping updates.

    Apparently Debian stable is just now getting GNOME 3.30 😬️ 3.34 is coming out soon. Supporting old distros has got to be one of the worst things about being an app developer on Linux.

    @wyatwerp @gcupc @julienxx Vala seems unsustainable to me too. It’s also fairly limited - every library you use needs to have a GObject based wrapper.
