Just learned that "Tree-hugger" is now considered bad because trees are unable to consent and therefore a tree-hugger is a type of sexual abuser.

"Wow Machine Radio, you're caller number 43 and you are on the air, live right now! Go ahead with your answer to the trivia question, caller! Caller?"At that point, they either hang up or they ask, "What was the question again?"
When they ask, that I say, "Ohhh, I'm sorry, 'what is the question again' is a popular answer today, but it is incorrect, try again with tomorrow's trivia question!"

Maybe a minor difference, but I'd like to spend some serious time exploring the linguistic implications of this change and other impacts.
For one, it would seem that that the "networking" part of "social media" has been turned into something dangerous, even straight-up subversive.
I think there was more trust when it was "networking" too. In general, people DON'T trust the "media."
