    Van Horn, TX is kind of a #scaryPlace too, but not really. It is weird. The Border Patrol, Drug Enforcement Agency,band FBI have a big presence around Van Horn. What is weird is if you are a young pretty-ish woman you better not stop in Van Horn unless you want to be kidnapped and sold into white slavery. You'd think all those cops around there could provide some sort of protection.

    Crime aside, Can Horn is kind of pretty if you like desert landscapes

    I got a little twisted around. Dad used to live in San Diego and 8 goes to SD from Casa Grande, AZ and 10 goes to Phoenix from Casa Grande (I think. It has been a while)

    I was actually on my way to LA on that trip. I really think that 15-20% of my trip from west TX to LA was spent inside the city limits of Phoenix on that Interstate. What is that? I-10? I-8?

    We wanted to stay the night there and maybe take in a site or two but I could never get to an exit to take it. I thought Tucson was nuts. Phoenix is rubber room crazy.

    Anyway, about 10 miles out of town we were speeding along at about 15 mph and I figured we could get to LA in no time after that.

    Actually it wasn't LA proper. My dad lives closer to San Bernardino which is the hometown of a famous GS user....

    I was in Phoenix a couple of years ago. Driving on the Interstate on Friday at rush hour. (The "rush" was travelling at the lightning speed of about 1 1/2 an hour when it bothered to move at all)
