    @Gargron

    there have not been any complaints sent to Mastodon app devs, rude or otherwise.

    we have a growing set of relationships with app developers who are committed to supporting both Mastodon and the Pleroma API extensions. if we were hostile to devs, that would not be happening.

    it is our policy to only discuss with app devs who have expressed direct interest in supporting Pleroma. that includes some apps that support Mastodon, others that support GNU Social and others that support Misskey as well as Pleroma.

    I find your claims that we have been rude and demanding with app devs who have expressed no interest in supporting our project to be disappointing, and as explained above patently false. please correct your statement.

    @Gargron bit dishonest as only one app was effected afaik and most app devs are on good terms without pleroma devs with no "rudeness" at all

    occasionally, clicking through yet another half-arsed GDPR-mandated cookie management screen, i find myself thinking "the GDPR has buggered up the web"

    then i catch myself.

    no, it hasn't. the way companies have opted to respond to the GDPR is what's buggered up the web. they could have been nice and unobtrusive about it, but no, they decided that *every user in the EU* should suffer their protests at not being able to stow thousands of fragments of random shite on a whim all over their vict- sorry, users' computers.

    #Mozilla, please don't do this. We don't want this. It might not be an "ad" but it makes you look bad nonetheless. Especially now given that #Firefox is the only non-Chromium browser out there, you need not alienate your user base.

    Here's hoping this gets boosted enough. 😞

    2018! I switched from only using Windows to mainly using Kubuntu. I moved my photography from Instagram to Pixelfed. I migrated all of my photos out of Google Photos and never used it again. I now use the NAS to store my photos (actually, I don't remember if this was 2017 or 2018). I dove into RSS, which is my first time trying to keep up with the news instead of remaining ignorant. When switching my main OS, I also moved most of my stuff from Windows to the NAS. I don't remember what else.

    Happy New Year, fediverse!

    Here’s to working towards more freedom, justice, and equality in 2019. It’s not going to get any easier. It’s probably going to get harder. All that matters is we keep chipping away at the problem and working on the solutions. Every little thing we do, whether it’s raising awareness or reducing harm or creating ethical alternatives… it all matters.

    Heck, the fact I can write this on the fediverse is reason enough to be hopeful.

    Lots of love to you all :indieHeart:

    The nice thing about pixelfed not having an official mobile app is that each app is treated equally.

    We have no incentive to limit developers, in fact working with them to bring unique and exciting experiences to users is in our best interest. #pixelfed

    How apps on Android share data with Facebook...

    At least 61 % of apps automatically transfer data to Facebook the moment people open the app, whether they have a Facebook account or not, or whether they are logged into Facebook or not.
