@manulfk @brandon to be fair, Spotify is awesome. I could be without it, and nothing else comes close - like Netflix.
Armbands aren't that uncomfortable.

@kopfkind I was running Nextcloudpi for a while on my 3B+. I had a few problems with stability - Nextcloud locking up and needing a reboot.
In the end, I didn't trust it so stopped using it.

@brandon @DylanTheThomas looks pretty cool, doesn't seem too overly priced.
Personally, I just put my phone in an arm band when I run, does the trick just fine.

@timapple @codesections I agree with Tim. Of course no one can know, but Linux Academy seems to be run really well and there's nothing wrong with being a for profit Linux company IMO.
If anything, it will give Chris and the rest of the guys a steady income stream and access to a load of new resources. From our perspective - no annoying 3 minute ads. Win/win.
Chris is a switched on guy, with a lot of experience in the corporate space. I'm sure he's made an informed decision.

@vancha numerous reasons - 500 characters isn't enough. 😊

@vancha android is hardly open at this point. The core is open, but there's a hell of a lot of proprietary "goodness" in there now.

@hund agreed. For me, they have few advantages over Apple at this point.

@hund haha! It wouldn't be a new one. Likely an SE. Andrioid is like Windows now - so much bloat that you can't get ride of. Also, what happened to phones that actually fit in your hand?
It'll be either an SE, or a really basic Android GO.

@Denderix you tried the -f switch?

@seasharp yeah, it really is. I was smiling the whole episode. You can literally hear the excitement in Chris' voice the entire show.

So Chris Fisher and Co have merged with Linux Academy. They're now working the shows full time, and have gone advert free. As well as this, they're rolling the Ubuntu Podcast in to their network.
I love hearing news like this from the community.

Was listening to Linux Unplugged on my way home. They have big news, and it's awesome! I won't ruin it in case you're a regular listening. CW post in replies if you want to know though.

@joseph that kinda loops me back to my previous point then - if you don't like the dev, why use ttrss at all?
By the way, I do agree that the guy comes across as a complete dick. However, I've personally not had any issues with ttrss, so I haven't needed to engage with him. I've been using ttrss for quite a few years now.

@joseph so what's so bad about the dev?
