Hm. I've had days where my emotions are non-descript and I can only describe them as weird. Often at that point can only rely on time to process it. The fresh air is refreshing so that'll be nice. Hope the walk has some nice views! -

Morning! Caught up on your trip. Looks like you're feeling better and enjoying things after the hassle! -

Ah. Yes. These days everything seems to go by quickly. I like the slow life, at the same time that I like acquiring knowledge about things, so the speed of events and information puts me in a bit of a bind. -

Capital seems to really be doubling-down on enforcing artificial scarcity under the threat of its erosion by low costs of distribution and reproduction. Nobody seems to want to acknowledge the need for a new economic model, so I am not optomistic. We'll see. -

Haven't kept up with the news closely enough this week. But if you're pissed, it already doesn't sound too good. And over here in the States we have to worry about what'll happen to net neutrality. -

It's been a long time since I've read up on socionics so I've forgotten how the system works. What I know is that instead of a system of cognitive functions, socionics claims to model personality in terms of "information processing." What's the difference between those more specifically? -

As for the rest of what you saud, it veers a off-topic, though a bit of a fixation these days. -

In addition, you can analyze the pragmatics of language in terms of "social strategies," since people do. More with words than impart information and these other things can fulfill different ends even if the speaker is not consciously tailoring their words for particular ends but just as conditioned by the process of learning a language. -

I'm not talking about deliberately creating a word with an agenda in mind in advance. I mean strategic in the broadest sense. For example, you create new concepts in order to solve a problem. Sometimes, a new term helps, so it is strategic in the context of that problem. -

There are two senses in which I agree with you (it is not entirely preventable anyway, and sometimes we need to cede semantic ground just to communicate efficiently), but on the other hand a change in the use of a term can be to the detriment of the merits of the concept behind it such that it prevents it from having traction or undermines the original strategy for which it was made. -

I'm confused. So are you concerned about the strategic use of terms or aren't you? You seem to be concerned about the term as moral accusation. I just happen to be concerned with it as both theoretical and political tool. I also wouldn't say "leftists" ruined it, since there are academic leftists, etc. It's more-so young activists with no coherent or principled framework that unites their struggles, for better or worse. -

Will definitely feel disingenuous. But that has more to do with authenticity than the idea of cultural appropriation. People just generally dislike what they perceive as inauthentic. But alas, people throw the former term around every which way. -

I just wouldn't immediately transfer that to making a big deal about the mere fact that an apparent white girl is wearing a kimono at a culture festival, which many people seem to do immediately in non-sequitor fashion.
