This is my first toot! I'm a consultant and developer working with Kubernetes and Golang. I've been a part of the K8S community for a few years and have rrecently started serving on it's release team. I'm interested in learning more about machine learning and chaos engineering.
I'm a C++ developer, currently studying & working in the area of computational physics and gpgpu programming. Been a :ubuntu: user for many years, but finally this year decided to give :archlinux: a go. Also very excited for PinePhone later this year! Now let's figure out this :mastodon: thing (you can see I already found the emoticons...).
@christitus@mattmcnutt Many Americans find the term comical to start, but seem to get over it quickly. Eugen has discussed it ad nauseam in the past, and has even volunteered to change it if people felt it was a barrier to adoption. The general consensus of Mastodon users seems to be that it's not a big deal.
#introduction I did not introduce myself when I first joined so here it is. I'm NOT a programmer! Maybe a little bit of HTML and CSS but that's it. I AM a lover of Linux but I would consider myself an intermediate user. I can use the terminal for some things but not a whole lot. I'm a general computer user. I like to beta test software. I can't program but if you give me something to test I will press every button and figure out where things break and perhaps how to fix it. Follow if you wish
I was @Ashpex I decided to move here as I find this instance more suitable for me. So if you wish to follow me, please do so over here. Thank you! A bit about myself: I'm a geek, Linux enthusiast, developer, designer. Interested in InfoSec and open source software. Nice to meet everyone on @fosstodon
@mattmcnutt Yea, he's a smart guy, so I'm assuming he's made the connection with the Mastodon's trunk making a toot sound. And the fact that Eugen isn't a native English speaker. Still, he throws out "tweet" as if that makes total sense and isn't a "cutsie" term in and of itself. Other than that, and the blockchain bit, I thought it was good.
#introductions Hello all! I am a computer science student interested in FOSS. I write Rust, C++, and Typescript. My focus is around computer graphics. Other than technology my posts will often be about gardening and plants, fermenting sugars, casting metals or whatever I happen to be interested in this month. I play video games less often now but am playing a little bit if Total War Warhammer 2 which is a great game.
