again: Dems are going to try and get Trump to impose martial law, to paint him as "Literally Hitler" before the midterms. things are going to get nasty. I'm staying indoors
@irritable sure and even though you're right and would be in the right to do so, surely you see that opening that can of worms, actual armed factional civil conflict on American soil, could really only end poorly for everyone?
yet one of the two major political parties in the country is basically advocating for exactly this right before our very eyes
@irritable I agree in principle and I think that's how it would shake out but it's the secondary and tertiary effects I'm worried about. it seems like the Dems literally don't care if they destroy the country and its social and moral fibre if it means winning, and they're backed into a corner now with few options left to salvage their situation
Dems are gonna push for increased civil disobedience from their electorate leading up to the midterms (see: Portland), so as to bait Trump into establishing martial law with the National Guard, so they can point and say "LOOK, SEE? LITERALLY HITLER!"
maybe my imagination is overactive but they're more desperate now that ever and this sure seems to be the way things are going
@PhoneBoy what I'm saying is, even as far back as the 90s, kids weren't being taught this, even in the most unaffected-by-liberal-bullshit regions of the country. I really don't know how we go about fixing this problem...
@PhoneBoy I was born in 1991 in SD. my public education was generally better than much of the country's w.r.t. US history… still, it definitely wasn't emphasized enough that "we're a Republic of States, yes we're a nation with a Federal government but what makes our country so rad is we have self-governing STATES"--even though we were emphasized ("the Civil War wasn't *really* about slavery per se, it was about states' rights"), I didn't fully understand until 3yr ago after independent research
