Gotta give a shout out to Seth Power who has published some really great and smooth music on Jamendo! One album under CC BY-NC-ND, and one under the most permissive @creativecommons license, Attribution only.
I feel like GIMP is a bit of an overkill when I just need to crop and adjust the brightness/contrast a bit. Any recommendations for a desktop app for this purpose? Needs to be light weight and good looking in Ubuntu/Gnome. Thanks!
"I hope that, bit by bit, we can shift away from taking it as an indictment of our goodness and move towards taking it as a gesture of respect and an act of kindness when someone tells us that we've got something racist stuck in our teeth."
Thanks to Jay Smooth for this great quote and talk on #racism.
Very good point: We have to stop thinking of beeing a good or bad person as something one _is_ and start thinking about it as a process, a thing one _does_.
Noone thinks that a clean person is clean, and therefor never have to brush their teeth. We are not either clean or unclean, good or bad. We do good or bad things, and we all need to check the mirror to see if we have something stuck in out teeth.
"When you believe that you must be perfect in order to be good, it makes you adverse to recognizing your own inevitable imperfections, and that lets them stagnate and grow."
Thunderbird is now using Pretty Easy Privacy (PEP) for encrypted emails. I find the user experience quite seamless. It takes no additional effort to send an encrypted email than a non-encrypted one. I don't even have to check whether I'm encrypting or not. It automatically encrypts emails sent to recipients for which it has keys available.
"The Mastodon project is excited that Nextcloud users can now join the fediverse, potentially growing the decentralized web by an order of magnitude", through #ActivityPub.
So much more goodies in #Nextcloud 15 too, like video chat inside collaborative document editing, better full text search (searching everything, not just files), etc.), faster, more secure.
@qwazix That's great, though! Thank you so much! This should help me survive at least until @Jason_Dodd's awesome sounding project in January! Thank you both so much! :D
@qwazix@Jason_Dodd Thats awesome! Thank you! If you keep working on those bugs, and maybe make the thumbnails a bit bigger, this might actually be what I need! The only features I miss, and can think of at the moment, is 1) the ability to change my mind later, by adding new images in between the others at a later time, and 2) that it should show the pics in the same order as they are in where you drop them from.
Solve 2), and that is enough to do 1) too, I guess.
I wish #Mastodon had a pause button on each timeline. Scrolling down a bit "pauses" it, I guess, but it keeeps blinking and changing the scroll bar position slightly
@Glectonzo Thanks! Deepin OS is based on Debian AFAIK. The store stuff was just them using a chinese analytics firm, which they stopped using, or was there something else?
