I had a great first day! I used my standing desk during most of the day and did some not so subtle dancing in place to my music, which I'm allowed to listen to during work :)

I'm such a nerd. I suspect that a statistical test/tool that I've been tinkering with would be the least useful in precisely the cases that I hope to detect with it, and this realization is making me laugh so much. 😂

Oh, yes. I was suggesting that your idea about being given money by your parents to start businesses (grants) and eventually being successful via that route is worrisome, as the "eventual success" in this case is close to the gambler's fallacy.

Lmao I had a feeling that you'd mention something about that. I still find them really weird, philosophically, but in my life right now I don't care about most taxes so long as I'm able to afford to live in a decently liberal/unburdened manner.

Interesting. I have none of those things, but for the first, I'd care only about having a space that lets me be out from under someone's thumb for decent stretches of time. Whether I own or rent the place is besides the point, for me. :)
