Heh. I just tested a new method that I came up with for performing a fundamental skateboarding trick (an Ollie/jumping with the board), and it went well.
Mental model-wise it seems quite different from the conventional method and awkward, yet in practice it's quite natural and even a bit lazy.

@alpacaherder
That's a really interesting point. It's in my nearest metropolitan area, which the suburb of which I live in. They might indeed be paying wages that match living expenses for the area surrounding the job site, not those that are lower near me or some more miles away.

So I was just doing a side quest when a speedrunner came of nowhere, uppercutted me, and ran off with all my cabbages.

*finds an interesting job posting*
Hmmm the minimum of this salary range is way more than they'd need to pay me, and I'm pretty qualified for this job. I feel like I'm missing something.

@art
I would enjoy more personal videos, possibly some that are only vaguely related to tech. Like with Jablinski Games and gaming.

@feld
😂 I didn't break up with her cuz it isn't her TV.

@kai
I'm not about to offend these people by demanding to tweak the nice, new TV

I'm about to watch the #GoT premier with my girlfriend and her friends. Problem is, the TV we're using has motion smoothing enabled. >_< It's super unsettling for me to watch. https://m.imore.com/how-get-your-hd-tv-stop-looking-soap-opera

*picks up a free local magazine that's home & garden-themed; quickly realizes that it's an LGBT+ publication*
Oh wow these advertisements are interesting

@andybalaam
Hm well my mind has now gone to some dark places whilst imagining what you might be talking about 🙃

@andybalaam
:X I love the movie and watched it with my girlfriend last night. I super teared up when everyone stopped what they were doing to gaze at the child. I got all sorts of religious feels.

@andybalaam
Children of Men, though it may not be "hard" enough

@kagoml
Woah! I've been tempted to sneak some seeds from a plant in a community garden nearby, but seedlings?!

The R programming language does have for itself the sense that it is indeed a statistical software. #Python would require more explanation, as it's a general use language. #Rstats

I wonder how difficult it would be to build a desktop #Wallabag app that pulls in article content from the server (via the API), saves it to/syncs with a local database, and lets you do full-text search on your own machine. Providing a way of reading the articles themselves might require little additional work.

Cute! I got NASA socks for my Dad for Christmas. The embroidery was too itchy for him. :( But the planet and spaceship socks that I also got for him are a-OK!

@lnxw37d2
I found a document about the API but I'm having a difficult time figuring out how one would go about using it. 😅 https://docs.rs/libpijul/0.11.1/libpijul/

I'm wondering if I can use #Python to develop tools for using #Pijul (written in #Rust, which I'm not trying to learn right now). I've successfully called the command line commands for Pijul via Python and stored the output in a Python variable, so I might be able to use #regex to parse the output into stuff I can work with.

Not only that, but within the financial identity thing, mainstream culture is weirdly fixated on single income streams. You could make a million a year, but if it's from two, $500k sources, you're supposedly worth less than someone that makes $750k from one and only source of income.
