"Fall in Love with the Problem, Not the Solution – A Handbook for Entrepreneurs" is a fantastic title for a book.

I see what they're getting at, don't get stuck in path dependency, don't marry the solution, identify the needs actually being fulfilled, not the specific tasks people happen to have come up with to reach that goal, etc.

At the same time, as a book for entrepreneurs you half expect to see this sentence in there: "if you love the problem enough and embrace it, you can become part of the problem, and that's where sustainable successful entrepreneurship lives"

Just a normal day on the Enterprise with no Romulans, space jellyfish, crystalline entities, Borg or other stuff disturbing the peace.

Just finished watching #ÄktaMänniskor season 2 from 2014.

The series has its flaws, but is probably the best sci-fi Swedish Television has ever produced, and season 2 really raised all the interesting philosophical issues and conflicts. There was a lot ramping up for season 3 and it's too bad it never came to pass.

I hear the UK Channel 4 #HumansTVSeries received three seasons ("series"), which were well received by critics but was then canceled due to insufficient ratings. I'm interested to see that next. It's not the same stories and characters, just the same concepts.

There was also a Chinese version produced by Tencent, I haven't looked into how that did.

Watching the scene where Pike takes command of the Discovery makes me fall in love with Space Dad all over again.

This is the scene where Star Trek was officially saved.

Every time you deliberately touch an item you create a save point. If you later lose track of that item you don't need to go back any further to start looking for it.

I check my phone and wallet before and after I e.g. enter or exit a train. Also if I'm in a dense crowd.

I got pickpocketed only once, 14 years ago, but I have dropped things or randomly left things in places far more often than that.

Considering where I live I've taken to pondering Ancient China too, and early Republican China. Dr. Sun's vision was glorious and I wish it could have taken root unpolluted by militarism and totalitarianism.

I'm torn on the nationalism. Dr. Sun's nationalism was undoubtedly a positive form of nationalism, a countermeasure to imperialism and a healthy attitude of "help yourself before you help others" that does not reject internationalism or exclude anyone from the nation-building.

And yet, see how it is twisted today to unite citizens against foreign specters and excuse expansionist policy and bullying of smaller neighbors.

As for me: Of course I do! On a weekly basis! How could I not!

The world was shaped by European colonialism and the legal and social systems of every place on Earth have been touched by structures good or bad that trace back to Rome.

With the global system seemingly on the way toward collapse, looking back at earlier collapses for guidance makes sense.

It reached me this week with some influencer expressing astonishment over how often her partner would, without her realizing it, ponder Ancient Rome.

I already have a portable touchscreen with HDMI and DP, it's neat and easily goes in my backpack.

I just feel a bit silly that it doesn't have its own battery when the screen is already taking up so much space, and it doesn't have its own "brain" when the screen is the expensive part.
