I'm not up to date on what the People's List party in Sweden wants either. They didn't get in, but it's interesting that they were founded by a former Christian Democrat and youth wing chair campaigning on cannabis legalization, and a former Social Democrat and reality TV star. -

YES. Preliminary results (exit poll) looking far better than feared.
I won't watch the full 5 h, after the exit poll they will have two hours of analysis and discussion that will be mostly filler, as no final results were yet available.
Time to take a break and go move the last items out of the old home, then I'll watch the last two hours, when the final results were presented and discussed.

Always jarring to see people from my high school days expressing themselves on Facebook in a way that indicates they have somehow gained three decades of life experience since I last saw them.

Happy Swedish National Day to those who celebrate!
On this day 501 years ago, Gustav I was crowned King of Sweden, which is considered the starting point for the modern Swedish centralized nation-state.
On this day 215 years ago, Sweden adopted a basic law that turned it from an absolute monarchy to a parliamentary constitutional monarchy ... again.
Both of Sweden's democratic revolutions, in 1719 and in 1809, were brought about by disastrous losses against the Russian Tsar. Big thank yous go to Peter the Great and Alexander the Blessed!
