@McSinyx @Efraim Flashner I just find all these forbidden-signs great, because every time something is listed, you know someone did it.
Sweden does not have "do not hang your laundry" signs in public parks. Hong Kong does.

@Kermode The only thing worse than someone being wrong on the internet, is if it's me being wrong on the internet, it's in my power to edit it, and I don't.
Even if it's such a tiny thing as a spelling error.
Once in a while
Someone amazing
Comes along
And here I am
@Hypolite Petovan Now I've seen inability to fetch even a comment from another Friendica, not just Mastodon or Pleroma:
@Mans R I expect there is some limit like that. π€£
Currently I have two records of my index finger and it's doing alright, I expect I might end up adding a third.
We saw it because the second/fifth one, Mad Max: Furiosa, is in the cinema now.
It sounds like Furiosa will have a bit more storytelling.
Saw Mad Max: Fury Road this morning.
The direction and scenery is very impressive, and it's cool that so much backstory and context is conveyed with just glimpses and indirect references ... but the main story can be told in five minutes. And it is, at the 1:19:00 mark. The rest is 115 minutes of drive drive drive explosions with some of that world-building weaved in.
We watched Incredibles last night. Hadn't watched it for quite some time.
What a solid movie!
- Wait, so this song's lyrics is all just "It's the Final Countdown"??
- No, there are two verses ...
*we listen to the song*
- ... ok so the minute with lyrics is between the two-minute intro and the two-minute outro.
- This is too much rock. *turns it off*
- No such thing!!
Maybe don't leave tongue-in-cheek jokes in domestic abuse threads.
Just a thought.
As I get older, as young people look younger and younger, as older and older people look "normal age", I'm increasingly amazed that there are still so many people that look old to me.
Like, people, if you look old to me now, halfway as I am through life, how crazy old are you?!
Deadpool X Wolverine is not going be part of some epic greater arc.
DannoDraws: "just fun and fresh superhero garbage in the best way possible"
The more comprehensive Swedish Academy Dictionary does list "-kropps-" as a variant, but doesn't source it, it only sources occurrences of "-kroppars-", going all the way back to 1797, L. RegnΓ©r, "[Introduction to the Natural Sciences, 1β2]"

Regnéééér!!! *froths at the mouth, shakes fist*
The translator of Cixin's novel, the Swedish Wikipedia and the Swedish Academy Word List all agree:
The Swedish term for the three-body problem is "trekropparsproblemet". That translates back to "the three-bodies problem", with an unnecessary plural suffix in the middle adding a syllable to a word that already has quite a few.
Which technical writer 200 years ago is responsible for this abomination? This is not how we compose words.
"Trekroppsproblemet", with a nice sequence of word stems, is the superior term, but officially it's not recommended, it's not even in the Word List as a variant.
