The Shepherd port demonstrates that Spritely tech is ready to improve end-user computing security while enabling new kinds of connections. We delight that Goblins is mature enough to serve as the foundation for such interesting work. As we look toward tomorrow, we're excited to see what new paradigm shifts our work on the Shepherd, Andy's Whippet work, and Andrew's Pre-Scheme work will empower!

Just amazing. Everything about all of these projects is remarkable.

Our interstellar ships 500 years from now will be running descendants of Spritely, Pre-Scheme etc somewhere in their systems, I'm sure of it.

@Christine Lemmer-Webber Again, when you started on Spritely, I was thinking this all sounds super neat, what I understand of it, but is it possible to make it useful for building anything with real world use?

I knew and saw your tenacity and competence and I figured if anyone can do it, it's you, but here we are a few years later and I had no idea it would go this far so quickly. This is the MediaGoblin experience again, times a hundred. Maybe I should say it's the MG experience *still*, as it's possible to weave a thread all the way back to 2010 or so for everything the Spritely Institute is building now.

Back when you announced "I'm building a media hosting service" I was thinking "yeah yeah, aren't we all", but dammit, you did it. Not just a basement hack, but a full-blown project with funding and contributors! An application able to host all the LibrePlanet media!

And you didn't stop there. You thought, hmm, this would be neater federated, and years of trials and tribulations later we had the current version of the FRIKKIN FEDIVERSE.

I'm surprised that Safari WASM still doesn't have tail calls. V8 had experimental tail call support in August 2019:

Hoot is a Scheme to WebAssembly compiler backend for Guile, as well as a general purpose WebAssembly toolchain. In other words, Scheme in the browser!

Cool. Cool.

- Compatible with Firefox 121 or later.
- Compatible with Google Chrome 119 or later.
- Safari/WebKit is unsupported, unfortunately, as Wasm GC and tail calls are still not available.

So there's GC in WASM now! That's very cool. So that's what makes Scheme possible ... without implementing a whole GC within WASM itself.

I tried following #MKBHD, but tech reviews just aren't my thing.

Whenever someone sends me a link to one of his videos though, they're always interesting. Collabs, historical overviews, metacommentary, always on point, always a good listen, and extremely well produced.

@Cookie Codes I had a quick test with my alts to see where justmytoots works, as several fedi implementations support various degrees of the Mastodon API.

No accounts/lookup endpoint:

- Akkoma
- Misskey

Works with JMT:
- Pleroma[0]

*Almost* works with JMT:
- IceShrimp

Mastodon supports both acct=@user@host and acct=user@host, but IceShrimp only supports it without the leading @ and JMT always sends the leading @.

I have never been, even when I was living in the right timezone and even city. I enjoy fantasy literature, TTRPGs and boardgames, but never got "into it".

The plans and interiors of the flats are identical but mirrored, but the lobby and corridor in the new place are slightly fancier.

The direct lift and lower floor will save me three minutes when arriving home. 😃

So we kind of moved 20% closer to school. 🤣
