@sim I'm speaking from a US perspective, as she is from there and that's where the discourse is.
She is rooted in country music, but is mixing it up with a different modern genre on each album.

@sim Because she is a successful business person and embodies the American Dream.
She doesn't even cause much of a stir apart from being a successful woman with mainstream American values rather than minority frumpy puritan values.
What is "omg yes" music to me? Queen, Mike Oldfield, Daft Punk, Madonna, The Shamen, Lady Gaga, ABBA, in roughly that order.
Except for Lady Gaga, I've put my money where my mouth is and bought albums from these artists.
In my playlists I also have Ava Max, Alan Walker, 2 Unlimited, The KLF, Doktor Kosmos, Massive Attack, Enigma, Beastie Boys, The Offspring, Sash!, Vengaboys, Pandora and Die Γrtzte. That's all feel-good or feel-moved music to me.
EDIT: And Rage Against the Machine. Obviously.
Taylor Swift: "You Need To Calm Down"
Today as a cleanser I thought I'd watch some Orville after work, and I ran straight into the horror episode, woah! That's S1E10 "Firestorm", and it's very good.
The beginning of the episode hit me right in the gut. When The Orville hits hard, it hits really hard, even when there are jokes strewn in, because the acting is more naturalistic compared to any Trek, which is more stylized and easier to distance yourself from.
I'll have one more Orville after dinner, hope it's a cleanser. π
I had a look at the "USS Callister" episode of Black Mirror and I thought it would just be a fun Star Trek parody, but it was ... indeed a Black Mirror episode, haha.
I thought it didn't make sense how this would be turned into a mini-series, but by the end of the episode it did make sense. π
@SustainOSS Sorry, you're my input on this, not the other way around. π
I'm a UX baby and don't have insights to contribute at this stage. π
@Hypolite Petovan No, they're just a corporation, pro-money. I'm not aware of any history of activism.
I don't think this was a statement, just unawareness of international sensitivities. If they knew this would happen when they made the game, they probably would have checked more carefully how international teams represent themselves.
Now I'm slightly curious how closely other Konami sports products have followed issues like "FYROM", "Chinese Taipei", teams using the olympic flag for team flag, etc. But not curious enough to look it up.
@Elena ``of Valhalla'' Yes! That's exactly what I implied. π
The ambivalent country:
- Aluminium Association aluminium.ca/
- National environmental department canada.ca/en/environment-climaβ¦
vs
- National heritage department (by extension) thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/β¦
- Aluminium Association (!) aluminium.ca/en/the-associatioβ¦
It would seem that the international spelling is considered a historical remnant and the US spelling is the one promoted.
