Never seen a District Council election promoted as hard as this one.
Probably because the new "better governance" election it's the most useless and pointless district election since the District Boards were established 40 years ago.

Thinking about ST PIC S1,2,3 it all blends together. I liked bits and pieces of a lot of it, but it was quite incoherent. S3 was confusing because I feel like I'm mixing up two seasons, but it's the writers that mixed up two Big Bads.
I appreciate a lot of what they were trying to do and all the elements were in place, but the ending of each season was quite, I don't know, abrupt and a fizzle at the same time. The S2 ending was a bit more satisfying than the other two.

@Borup I've learned "Genosse", don't know from where. Herr Lehmann, perhaps. Or Good Bye, Lenin. Or Das Leben der Anderen. So many good Wende-films. =)

@Kermode I have Waitrose lentils here, don't know if they grow them in the UK or if they perhaps import them from Canada and pack them in the UK, and I have lentils clearly marked as being Kazakh. -

@Desikner My Swedish is deteriorating and anglifying. π
I used to speak only Swedish to my son, but in the last two years I've been increasingly responding in English when he starts conversation in English.
I think I've found a lower plateau of Swedish level for now though. I have several people I IM with in Swedish and sometimes call, which helps me not drop any further.
I also overcompensate a bit when writing or speaking Swedish with people who are not my son, so I'm probably using fewer English words and Anglicisms than some people in Sweden. π

My brain has usually had four shelves for languages:
- Swedish
- English
- German
- OtherWhen I started learning Japanese, Spanish words started falling out, and my brain would give me "kedo" when I was looking for "pero" ("but").
When I started learning Cantonese it pushed out my Japanese and I could no longer make simple sentences in Japanese.
But the other day when I was trying to think something in German, Cantonese words intruded on my German shelf. This is new and worrying. I'm not really better at Cantonese than a few years ago, just worse at German. π
