The way I see it, the core mastodon crowd Gargamel is in sees themselves as the standard, the norm. And other instances regardless of software that don't play by their rules and don't block who they are told to block - those people are the weirdos on the fringe.
When really core mastodon is the fringe, and everyone else is the norm. We don't have arbituary preconditions to achieve validity, we're just people on the internet organically talking to each other. Only the fringe seeks to divide and separate. It's literally then vs everyone, they just keep telling themselves they are the good guys

Literally anybody can deploy pleroma or mastodon. You can say you dont like Nazis or any group of people but you can't actually stop them from using your software. There is no recourse, legal or otherwise to stop them. Thats why its almost not worth discussing.
Ive seen more nazis on mastodon anyway but thats none of my business
