@JonQuan@verygoodsoftwarenotvirus@foxhkron@tuxcrafting Putting a different JavaScript frontend doesn't mean you get new features. It just looks different. Mastodon works with any UI, like Pinafore, Toot!, Halcyon, etc.
It's my pet theory that the availability of the Twitter-to-Mastodon cross-poster has harmed Mastodon's adoption by giving people an easy way to change nothing about their social media habits, and pretend like they have checked out Mastodon without ever being here.
Every time I bring this up I get responses à la "not all cross-posters!" and well, if you don't think it's about you, don't make it about you
Okay, does anyone here have a mother called Carol? I know I have looked for a Rust developer in January 2019 and found one among a few applicants, but nothing else comes to mind, and I have definitely not sent anyone on a "wild goose chase"
Kibousoft is just a couple people doing web development. It's as much of a "corporation" as I am, since I am self-employed and doing web development. mastodon.cloud was struggling with an owner who had no technical experience, so the people of Kibousoft offered to take it over. It wasn't bought out.
I'm sad to see people spreading misinformation about this. One of the Kibousoft guys was co-admin of KNZK and is one of the nicest people on here.
Apparently everyone else cooks scrambled eggs all the time since early childhood, well excuse me I never even tried one before my trip to London in January
It is regrettable that I was only notified about this after the ID change already took place, because we could have clarified things and involved the Mastodon app devs, and have some say in the matter.
Now clarifying an already existing API of ours would be exclusionary towards Pleroma. If you heard about our documentation changing to specify IDs as 64 bit numbers yesterday, it has been changed again today afternoon to keep Pleroma compatible.
