@pea Last time I tried compiling a Rust program where I used glutin, which uses dlopen, it threw up an error about using dlopen, so I kinda assumed that musl doesn't support that.
@caseyp Well I could statically link with just musl (I think?), but I'm not sure how useful that would be if I'm dynamically linking to other stuff. I suppose the less dynamic linking the better, but I'd just really like to not dynamically link anything.
#musl / #x11 / static linking question: is it possible to make a statically linked X11 application? Every time I've used a library that uses X11, it has linked to it dynamically or with dlopen, which makes it not possible to use musl (afaik, please educate me if this is not the case).
Using Free Software doesn't automatically give people freedom.
The freedom is in the user's ability to modify the software when it does something user doesn't like, and make it do what user wants it to do.
As long as there's someone in the world for whom modifying the software they use is not an option, be it because of license, excessive complexity, lack of time, lack of patience, or because the person is afraid or overwhelmed by the concept of modifying something - that person is not free.
Learnt some C and moved https://archive.neon.moe to a Pi today. Now some more C, and then sleep early before tomorrow's Twilight Imperium round 2 with fam. This year has started off nicely :blobcatmelt:
I'm a game developer and I sometimes post some stuff about the games that I'm making, but more often than not I tend to not finish my games. I have some projects finished but they are mostly engine and systems development (libraries and engines). I also really like art and I make some sometimes but not too often really. Most of my posts just usually end up being general micro-blogging.
I'm also a trans girl and I have quite a few mental health issues like borderline personality, major depressive disorder and social anxiety, so I might talk about those sometimes also.
Beam trap ability, applying configurable positive effects to allies and negative to enemies, so it can function as a defensive ability (gain shield), an offensive ability (buff damage), a peel (stun enemy) or anything else. #screenshotsaturday#gamedev#indiegames#UnrealEngine
I have modified mastodon.social code so that if there is a referrer header value, i.e. the visitor comes from a link, the frontpage redirects to joinmastodon.org.
