Would you play it?

I used to work on a piece of software something like this but dropped it due to lack of time. Now that I work on FOSS full time I have time to pick up an unserious project. I would rewrite it from scratch though, my old codebase has some serious systemic problems.

* Exact in terms of available blocks/items and their logic, compatible network protocol, texture pack compatibility, and supporting Minecraft beta 1.7.3 save files (aka Anvil saves); but not bug-for-bug compatible, not compabile with historical Java mods, and with improved performance; as well as very conservative inclusion of future features after compatibility is achieved

Open request for anyone with any specific feedback on my approach or their interactions with me in my capacity as a free software maintainer to share that feedback. I sync up with my collaborators on these questions fairly often, but not usually the general public. Feedback is taken seriously and acted upon, positive or negative. 11 months ago the CTO of ProtonMail told me that he was "pushing as we can" to open-source the proprietary paid bridge they use as a pathetic excuse for supporting standard, open protocols like IMAP and SMTP. Today it's still paid-only proprietary software.

ProtonMail is a scam.

When you get fed up with a platfrom, stop and consider the root causes that led to the frustration you face. When you're considering the new platforms you'll use to replace it, look for the same root causes and avoid platforms which will suffer the same fate.
