@riga Some context — I’ve been in a pretty bad accident before, and since then I’ve had the feeling that life is precarious.

@kureshii my job! i’m on the lookout for something better, but i have no idea what it would be.

On one hand I think this impatience is a good antidote to any tendencies to become complacent/ sleepwalk through life, but on the other hand the bitterness it's generating is not helping me.

Anyone have anything on dealing with crushing impatience -- in particular the feeling that life is short and that it's a waste to spend it on things you don't care about? I think I'm getting really bitter and resentful because I feel like the 'boring' commitments in my life are getting in the way of achieving my snowflakey goals quickly enough.

@strangeattractor Yeah, of course. I realize there's a huge diversity of attitudes, so this isn't shade at All Gamers. I was just struck to see that some of the mainstream outlooks seemed to have changed.

I guess that’s maybe a bad example, because the park (and the stream) was ‘designed’, but I stand by the basic point!

@riga This is my conclusion after going walking today on Mont Royale and getting excited like a little child about the way a half frozen stream flowed through and beneath the ice.

After thousands of years of human existence, I still don’t think human aesthetics have caught up with nature.
