There's a list of alternatives here, but some of them don't *feel* like alternatives because they're chat apps (like Telegram) or general social networking apps (like Facebook): https://alternativeto.net/software/path/

The thing Path did well was make you feel like you had a private social network. What else does that?

I paid for Path to try and ensure, in a small way, this didn't happen. It's the only thing all of my family have ever agreed on to use, and it's a delightfully simple app.

Of course, they're all Facebook and WhatsApp users, so now that will be the default, unless I can get them to switch to something else. It would need to be:

- Private by default
- Delightful to use
- Provide emoji responses

Any ideas?

I also finished Ellen Ullman's "Life in Code" last night, which I've been reading in bitesize chunks.

The books contains chapters that were written over a 25-year period. It's all great, but the last one is fantastic.
