If I were a mean one Iβd just tell them to use official channels: https://www.emacs.co.uk/contact-us/ But Iβm not. In my imagination, thoughβ¦ also talking about it on social media, I guess.
Weirdest email in a long time: somebody sends me a report saying their emacs26-common package doesn't update. When I ask why Iβm getting the mail and say that this seems like a typo it turns out the searched for "Emacs email" in DuckDuckGo and got my email address. π€ͺ
@mrb@jlelse@selea The amount of work involved to set it up. The amount of maintenance involved to keep it running. The amount of reading I have to do. Having to bear the uncertainty and doubt of it all. I hosted my own email for a while and I don't want to do it anymore.
@selea Just skimming that blog post, it would seem that there's maybe a comma missing in this line? non_smtpd_milters = inet:localhost:8891,inet:localhost:8893milter_default_action = accept
@jlelse I followed the migadu.com recommendation and used this: v=DMARC1; p=none; fo=1; rua=mailto:... Makes me think I should just set p=reject. @selea
@jlelse Yeah. My main issues were simply: 1. argh, reading reports, and 2. the only benefit seems to be setting it to p=reject, do I dare do it? This conversation makes me think that I probably want to, and that I should probably wait for some more reports before doing it. π
@jlelse What does "Google is excepting my mails with DKIM, SPF and DMARC after just a few conversations with Gmail users" mean, exactly? You had DKIM and SPF and Gmail marked your mails as spam some of the time and now it doesn't do it any more? Or are you just saying you have all three enabled and your mail gets delivered, but you don't know whether enabling DMARC made a difference?

@lindsays At the time the examples and explanations for the ledger software I was trying to use helped me understand what all this double accounting stuff was. Perhaps it's still useful even if you don't use the software? (Ledger is a command-line program and thus doesn't match your requirements.)
