@NYbill @Luke I guess it's also a cultural thing about the individuality/freedom that is so important in the US, while trains are more a community/public service. The car has been the symbol of individuality and power, look at the different size of them, the US models are almost always bigger than the European models. The industry sold the American dream inside a car as an evolution of the horse.

@NYbill Think that here the distances are shorter and every country just made the ones inside and then connected with the rest. That led to a pretty dense rail service.

@jwildeboer IMHO FOSS could be considered anarchist , it's based on freedom and the respect of freedom for users and creators alike promoting no one can take away those freedoms , although I don't know how technically/philosophically integrates into anarchy (that I leave to people more educated than me in those subjects) @anarchistquotes
