    Сквозное шифрование в Telegram змеиным маслом, в общем-то, не является, но оно подозрительно к тому близко.
    То, что им ещё и не всегда пользоваться можно – это лишь вишенка на торте.
    Собственно, и у Wire и у XMPP (OMEMO) Signal'овский Double Ratchet Algorithm.

    В отличие от Wire, где федерация есть в планах (им можно не верить, но это хотя бы не отрицательная позиция), Signal считает федерацию в принципе несостоятельной.
    Отношение к сторонним клиентам у Signal хорошо видно по тому, что стало с LibreSignal.
    И гвоздём в крышку гроба: Signal требует номер телефона.

    До появления Conversations XMPP был в застое, потому заверения Дурова о защищённости и открытости (и что код серверной части обязательно будет открыт) были схаваны с большой радостью без должного скепсиса.

    Из плохого централизованность, отсутствие клиента для десктопа не на Electron и маленькое сообщество.
    Номер телефона можно давать, а можно не давать.
