being involuntary committed to a mental institution is a huge violation of agency, far more countertherapeutic than the services administered could possibly be. more, the "scarier" a crazy person is, the more danger they're in of being abused rather than treated by psychiatric professionals.

someone yelling at their voices isn't a threat to you, but if you get them committed you're a REAL threat to them!
