@slightlyflightyone I'm so sorry. Coming out is difficult and weird sometimes. Relatives in particular can really not understand where you're coming from, and their assumed stance of steady normalcy already reveals itself as rudeness borne from ignorance.

However, I am happy that you are living your truth. In time, your ability to be happy with yourself will exceed their ability to make you miserable.

@slightlyflightyone kind of? I mean, I'm out of touch with my extended family because I find some of them to be very caustic. I cut them all out of my life early.

Through adulthood, most of my friends are some degree of LGBTQIA. Probably one of the best things I ever did for myself, honestly.

My heart goes out to you, I avoid these kinds of gatherings because I don't want to participate in this bullshit.
