@quad @Wolf480pl It's called DAD for Duplicate Address Detection. Basically, each machine does a neighbour discovery for its own address, and barks if it works (it shouldn't).

@quad @Wolf480pl Collisions are automatically detected and reported (but a SLAAC machine has a very small probability of collision, 2^64 is huge).

@Wolf480pl @quad No, I mean the sysadmin knows it. It activates privacy extensions on client machines (done by default on all OS) and disable it on servers (typically configured manually, may be through a system like Ansible).
