@Ghosty @kev @jason @jt yeah. I picked a second hand x1 up a couple of years ago for wifey. She loves it. I love that we have the same charger :)

@jason @Ghosty @jt I recently got my first ThinkPad (and X1 Carbon) after a recommendation from @popey.

What a machine! I've been really missing out. Linux compatibility is great, it's super quick (i7, 8 Giggerdy RAM, 256 SSD) and looks awesome. Best thing? It cost me a little over £300 from eBay!

I now see why these devices have such a following.

Over the air update to my oneplus 3T just enabled face unlock (and a privacy policy update of course). Neat.

Thanks to excellent debugging from @sil we discovered it's this invisible force quit window stealing focus. Which was actually the Wine System Tray! Thanks go to xwininfo and xprop <3

Anyone else see this in Firefox 60 on #ubuntu / GNOME? When *maximised* I can't click top ~50% of first four pinned tabs. Can click bottom ~50%. Note the tab highlights only work in bottom part of the tab. When not highlighted, clicking doesn't respond. Only affects first 4 tabs.

@moetech I imagine they can get some of them back, but not all. I know I have thousands of photos of my kids that will never be on facebook.

Just had a call from a slightly distraught non-techy friend of a friend. They were burgled and her laptop was stolen. All their family photos gone. No backups. :(. If you're a tech, teach your friends and family. Help them understand the need for backups, please! <3
