So @mike has just informed me that today is Fosstodon’s 2nd birthday.
Two years, almost 5 thousand accounts, and almost 160 thousand status messages. It's been a wild ride. Here’s to many more!

@hund mine was the original Samsung Galaxy. Everyone thought it was huge and they had no idea what Android actually was.
Part of me wishes we could go all go back to the dumb phone days.
@wizzwizz4 haha you see why I still have the Win partition now? 😂
@adammish I’m really glad I was able to help. 😊
@wizzwizz4 hahahaha! Thanks. Granted, I’ve given it all of 10 minutes of my time. I need to sit down at some point and work it out.
This is the second result for "husky" on DuckDuckGo, congratulate this good boye for his achievement.
@joseph sorry, read this when I was still half asleep. I read “redact” as “extract”. Please ignore me, I’m an idiot. 😁
@wizzwizz4 I’ve tried that driver in the past, can never get it to work. :(
@ohyran absolutely! 🤣🤣
@jordan31 a few guys in work have recommended that. I need to give it a look.
@kev
Check invidious as alternative frontend. It of course supports viewing YouTube videos, but you can also sign up and create a account on a instance oft your choice so that you can subscribe to your favourite channels.
As mobile app you could try out NewPipe vor SkyTube.
@majicjay
@jeybe Invidious looks good - thanks for the tip. It seems that neither NewPipe or SkyTube are available for iOS, but you have inspired me to go looking for an alternative. Thank you!
@joseph I’d probably say copy/paste? Depends how big the pdf is though. Can you not save as / export to a different format?
@kelbot cool?! COOL???!!! That’s way too hot for me.
@majicjay I moved a couple years ago. It’s a great service, still need to get my wife moved over though.
#Welcome
Not sure how to do this I was told I should make a welcome post as a new user.
I'm an old disabled guy that loves free and open software and privacy. I'm in the process of getting rid of the fatal five (Google, Apple, FaceBook, Microsoft, Amazon). Just got rid of my Google account on Tuesday! FaceBook went over a year ago. Found out about this on YouTube. Looks like a great community!
Btw, I use Arch :)
@mgiagante welcome back!
#DeGoogle
Mark the date - Tuesday, July 23, 2019 I deleted my Google account after 15 years! I was one of the original beta testers, signed up in fall 2004 and switched my family to Google Apps/G Suite in 2010.
Still trying to get my family off Google. Working on moving their calendars to NextCloud right now. Wish me luck!
@majicjay I still have my google account, but it’s only used for YouTube. I’d love to get rid, but nothing comes close to YT.
@mookie saw that when it first came out. I really enjoyed it.
