I have slowly started to decide that Linux is an oral history passed down not from sages to the people, but instead pieced together by archaeologists -

Megacorps gonna megacorp ♲ @Jaxbot@twitter.com: The future is now, specifically that Nike didn't QA the *android* version of their Adapt app as thoroughly as their iOS app, and all customers with Android devices now have bricked shoes due to broken firmware update routine. @internetofshit

My favourite thing about about the internet of shit is how much people don't care about quality control
On both sides -

Ug, so, Ontario healthcare and I need to check benefits for wards and stuff
Apparently there's a bunch of tiers of care and only the bottom tier is covered by OHIP for giving birth
I hate multitier healthcare systems
Just pick one Ontario and tax me for it! -

♲ @theroxyd@twitter.com: this is how misogyny works by the way. it wears down the targeted groups til they decide it isn't worth it to be in that space anymore.
it's why i fight so hard for others. my involvement in infosec public space is mostly gone, for now. i don't want anyone new to go through that -

The lesson I feel is obvious from The Dropout and Fyre Festival is that the people with money to fund big ideas don't have the ability to know what a big idea is and we need better ways to fund ideas that "people with money are maybe smart" -

So - I filed a PR and a long/detailed description of the issue. Should I file an issue as *well* as the PR?
The community guidelines imply elsewise - but is this an issue where the guidelines might say one thing, and the culture says something else? (This is my first contribution to a large project, so thinking) -

I don't know how to approach a largish corporate backed open source project who are not looking at external PRs.
I am not currently paying them - but I am looking to contribute code to fix a bug that is making my job impossible. I did the standard "Open a github PR" -

♲ @encthenet@twitter.com: Amazon doesn't love New York enough to pay their taxes there, so I guess they really don't love New York.
Remember when corps say the love a place, it's like how an abusive partner loves. They only love them as much as they can take advantage of them. -

- Read the documentation
- Yell "FUCK" at computer
- Copy and paste

♲ @rdonoghue@twitter.com: Easiest way to spot a mark is to find someone who is really smart and capable in their domain to an extent that they are disdainful of other spheres.
This is not a hard profile to find online, especially when the language of disdain is often front and center.
