Anyway, I had for a long time forgotten this game existed until Sokpop released Soko-Loco https://sokpop.itch.io/soko-loco a pixelart reimagination of the game I once loved. While it doesn't have the same free form mechanics it is certainly fun.

Looking back, my favourite part of it was how peaceful the whole game was to play.
There were no monetary limits and as the player you set the goal. It was very much in line with how Lego inspires creativity and play.
The interface for accessing the tools and buildings was hidden away in a little lego briefcase that would open up to display the options.

I thought I would share this 1-bit tile-set by KenneyNL over on bird-site.
It's a CC0 licensed #gameassets pack containing 1,024 tiles/items/characters. I love its aesthetics and _will_ be making some things with it.

This whole #Tumblr debacle just goes to show that AI led community moderation is not only a failure but a dangerous one at that.
It would seem that the premise of AI as sold to the general public through mass media is far off into the future and certainly not ready to be making decisions on the behalf of humans,
The problem goes further than Tumblr, various governments are beginning to clamp down on social media with the UK having recently made demands that automation be put in place to take down content that is inappropriate citing child safety as the moral panic of choice to get the public on side.
Moderators should be thought of as akin to doctors in the real world. In the UK for example there are on average 2.8 doctors for every 1000 people; how many moderators do you think organisations such as Tumblr, Twitter or Facebook have for every 1000 accounts? This is why automation is "key" to their moderating at a cost that enabled their service to be "free."
Nobody want to pay for their social media do they?
Arguably the Fediverse is a solution to this, with many instances with 10K or less active users, they can often keep the moderators per 1000 users within an acceptable range.
However moderation isn't free and in the case of the Fediverse it is entirely donated time kindly given up by volunteers. As instances grow, there may become a point when we have to take a strong look at ourselves and maybe begin crowd funding the Fediverse to keep it a pleasant place to be social within.

Looks like someone created a program launcher for the Amstrad PCW called DeskJoy. It uses the Samaruc GIU with icons, windows, buttons, etc.
I can't explain in words how much I love its interface.

Before getting the Windows 3.1 laptop for writing I used an Amstrad PCW 8256. It had a beautiful green phosphor screen and came with a basic office suite embedded on ROM of which I only ever used the WordProcessor.
The printer was so noisy that I couldn't use it at night, that thing was like a machine gun going off!

I don't care about follows/clout/etc on the verse. What matters is the interactions, the forging of friendships and how a group of people can make your hour/day/week feel special.
As a whole social media has become a monster, it's lost the social and become more about shouting into the void.
Here on the verse the void not only shouts back, it boosts you, comforts you, chats and laughs with you, helps you and much, much more.
Toxicity has the potential to poison every platform eventually, but so long as we push it out, de-federate its origin and quarantine it through isolation to the fringes, the verse will always feel like home.
This has been my TED talk, thank you for listening, keep being awesome. π
