What made it interesting to me is that you could buy this thing, with little or no hacking tools/experience/etc. and have the fun of "building" your own game console, and even learn to write your own games.

At the same time you're covertly acquiring a Linux computer, that with a little more hardware you could start to get into Linux, FOSS, etc.

I could imagine giving this to a kid as a "gateway drug" of sorts without freaking-out their parents :)

@kelbot Yeah that's one of the biggest challenges I've had packaging Raspberry Pi-based stuff, they did a good job.

It's really a bummer that the Pi folk don't include any battery/power management; seems like almost every application could use it and it's one of my favorite things about the CHIP (RIP).

@plantsmydude a good way to get rolling on #mastodon is to do an "introduction" toot (oh yeah, posts are called toots :) ).

Basically just a toot with the hashtag #introduction, some text about you and a list of hashtags of what you're into, looking for, etc. Click the #introduction hashtag to see some examples.

(hashtags matter a lot on Mastodon because it's the primary way of finding things, as you'll see).
